Barry Crux Sworn in as Master of the Company of Merchant Taylors in York
Barry Crux was sworn in as Master of the Company of Merchant Taylors in York, on Wednesday 21st June. This is a one year appointment and carries with it representation of the Company at numerous events. These include attending Livery Events at the main London Guilds. It will also include the York Guilds, being the Freemen of the City, the Merchant Adventurers, the Cordwainers, the Scriveners, the Butchers, Media Arts, and the Gild of Building.
The swearing in was followed by a service at All Saints Church, Pavement and then a full tea at the Merchant Taylors medieval hall in Aldwark. The Right Hon Lord Mayor of York, Lady Mayoress, Sheriff of York and the Sheriff’s consort were also present along with many other guests and members.
