Sale of Land in Exelby, North Yorkshire
Barry Crux and Company are pleased to announce they have completed the sale of a parcel of land – on behalf of the Ei Group.
The land forms part of the site of the Green Dragon, a substantial public house in the north Yorkshire village of Exelby, close to Bedale and Northallerton.
Barry Crux & Company recently sold the Exelby Green Dragon pub to a local community group which was formed to save their village pub, which we understand has since been renovated and is once again a thriving village pub offering fantastic beers and food, with a shop/deli/café to open in time for the Tour de Yorkshire in May.
The land consists of part of the pub’s large car park area plus what was previously used as a mobile caravan area (of which temporary planning consent has recently lapsed).
The property developer who purchased the land, One North Property Ltd, proposes to build 5 new houses having recently received outline planning consent from Hambleton District Council.
It is pleasing to have been able to complete the sale to two separate parties, which between them ensure the continuance of the Exelby Green Dragon pub in the hands of the community and the development of houses to complement the village’s existing stock, on land not needed for the pub.
