New Complementary Therapy Centre To Open in Strensall
Redmayne Lodge, situated at the entrance to Park Gate in Strensall, was built and occupied by Hogg Builders, one of York’s best known family building firms founded in the 1960s.
When the company laid down its tools in 2013, James Hogg, son of the founder, looked to let the company’s 3,000 sq ft head office. The building, which is modern, light and airy, provides flexible space over ground and first floors and, in addition, benefits from parking for approximately 20 cars.
The office market in York has been subdued for some years now and it continues to be particularly difficult to let office space outside of the city centre. We are therefore delighted to have let Redmayne Lodge to a new business.
The property has been let to a new company, Redmayne Lodge Limited, and planning permission has already been obtained for change of use to a complementary therapy centre.
Darron Callender, Director of Redmayne Lodge Limited, was drawn to the building due to the peaceful nature of the locality and the flexible nature of the building which will allow him to bring together a range of complementary therapy providers under one roof. Central to the business is the creation of float tank rooms – a therapy not currently on offer in York.
The therapy centre is due to open at the beginning of August and we look forward to seeing an empty office building thriving again, creating employment and offering something a little different to the local community.
The property was let off an asking rental of £35,000 per annum.
